I have the latest mame and merged rom set on my PC, and i've finally got maximus arcade front end to mostly work with them. overall it works pretty good, but i'm trying to get it ready to be updated since it has a very old version of mame on it (and an old rom set). I have an old DIY mame cab that someone else built running win xp which i bought off someone on ebay over a decade ago. r/pinball - Pinball specific discussion.

The fact that the software is usable serves primarily to validate the accuracy of the documentation (how else can you prove that you have recreated the hardware faithfully?). The source code to MAME serves as this documentation. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions. As electronic technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents this important "vintage" software from being lost and forgotten.
